1) Keep live crabs in a cool, moist environment. Store them in a breathable container in the refrigerator at 5-10°C (41-50°F).
2) Do not submerge them in water; this can cause them to suffocate.
3) Rinse the crabs thoroughly under cold water to remove any dirt or debris.
4) Check for liveliness; only cook crabs that are active and fresh.
